She signed up to compete in SIXTEEN, JYP’s newest survival competition, on May 5, 2015. She placed fourth overall in the survival, earning her TWICE membership in the girl group.[2] The Story Begins, the group’s first mini album, served as their formal introduction on October 20, 2015.

On July 11, 2019, JYPE made the announcement that Mina would withdraw from TWICE’s TWICELIGHTS globe tour owing to unexpected, acute nervousness and uneasiness about performing on stage.

On August 27, JYPE issued a statement stating that Mina had been identified as having an anxiety disorder following expert evaluations. Continuous or irregularly occurring anxiety, as well as abrupt fluctuations in anxiety level, are the key features of symptoms. As a result, the decision regarding her participation in group activities is being reviewed with her and the other members and must be made only in light of Mina’s actual condition.
