Early Life And Career
Lee Je-no, also known as Jeno, was born in Incheon on April 23, 2000, and raised in Ilsan. ‘Je’ in Chinese signifies king, while ‘No’ means ‘work hard. He also has a sister who is older. He appeared in numerous South Korean ads as a child model. He was revealed as one of S.M. Entertainment’s S.M. Rookies’ initial members in December 2013. Along with fellow N.C.T. members Mark, Jaemin, Haechan, and Jisung, he made his reality television debut in 2014 as a member of S.M. Rookies on Exo 90:2014. Along with other S.M. Rookies members, he then made an appearance on the Disney Channel Korea program “The Mickey Mouse Club” as a Mouseketeer. The program ran from July 23 to December 17, 2015.
On August 24, 2016, Jeno made his acting debut in N.C.T. Dream, the third subgroup. He contributed the songs “Go” and “Black on Black” to the first album “N.C.T. 2018 Empathy.” On May 22, 2018, “The Show” on S.B.S. M.T.V. made him the new MC. Along with singing, Jeno started to write the words for the song “Dear Dream” for the N.C.T. Dream’s second EP, “We Go Up,” with members Mark, Jaemin, and Jisung. Since then, he has written the lyrics for a number of songs on N.C.T. Dream’s follow-up albums. On March 13, 2019, Jeno took part in the K-Wave & Halal Show in Malaysia alongside his N.C.T. Dream bandmates Jaemin and Jisung. He released the lead single from N.C.T.’s second album, “Resonance Pt. 1,” called “Misfit,” on November 23, 2020. Later, he released the first track from “Resonance Pt. 2,” “90’s Love.” On October 13, 2021, Jeno appeared in Donghae’s song “California Love.”
