She signed up to compete in SIXTEEN, JYP’s newest survival competition, on May 5, 2015. She placed third overall in the survival, earning her TWICE membership in the girl group.[1] On October 20, 2015, they made their formal debut with the release of The Story Begins, their first mini album.
Jeongyeon, her sister Gong Seung Yeon, and actor Kim Min Su were named as the new MCs for the music program Inkigayo by SBS on June 22, 2016. Her final episode of the music program, which aired on January 22, was produced by her. Jeongyeon expressed her gratitude to her supporters in a tweet on that day.
