Early Life And Career

On March 20, 2000, Hyunjin was born in Seoul, South Korea. Kkomi was a beloved dog he had growing up. When he was younger, he went to Las Vegas, where he went by the name Sam.

He took the suneung exam on November 15, 2018.

On February 15, 2019, he received his diploma from the School of Performing Arts (SOPA) in Seoul.

During his middle school years, Hyunjin was discovered by JYP Entertainment while he was out shopping with his mother. Then, after two years of training, he joined JYPE with no prior experience.[9] He first became interested in dancing while watching the more experienced students perform on stage. He then practiced more by learning several styles of dance at SOPA.

His involvement in the upcoming survival show Stray Kids was formally announced by the corporation on October 12, 2017, at noon, along with his individual photograph and name. On December 19, 2017, the show’s final episode made it official that Hyunjin would make his debut with the boy band Stray Kids.

On March 26, 2018, Hyunjin made his solo debut as the lead rapper and main dancer of Stray Kids with the release of the mini album I am NOT.

He served as a fixed MC on Show! Music Core from February 16, 2019, to February 20, 2021.

Along with Yoon Sanha, Choi Bomin, and Lee Daehwi, he joined KBS’ group project BBANGBBANGZ in December 2019.

He published a dance performance he created to Billie Eillish’s song “when the party’s over” as part of the SKZ-PLAYER series on May 9, 2020.

He released “miss you” as a self-penned song as part of the SKZ-PLAYER series on December 21, 2020.
