Sooyoung (born February 10, 1990) is a South Korean actress and singer who goes by the name. The Korean-Japanese female group Route 0, which was active from 2002 to 2003, was where Sooyoung made her singing debut. She joined the K-pop girl group Girls’ Generation in 2007, playing the lead dancer, lead rapper, and supporting vocalist positions.

Early Life And Career
Sooyoung was born in South Korea’s Gyeonggi province of Gwangju. Her parents are Choi Jungnam and Moon So-hee. She has a sibling who works in musical theater, Choi Soo-jin.
Through the 2000 SM Open Audition, Sooyoung was found on the SM Casting System. After winning first place in the 2002 Korea-Japan Ultra Idol Duo Audition, Sooyoung went to Japan to make her debut as a part of the duo Route, which also included Marina Takahashi. The trio of singles included “Waku! Waku! It’s Love”, “Start,” and “Painting,” as well as three B-Sides called Go Go Happy!, Kimi Ni Ae Ta Kara, and Onna No Ko Magic. In 2003, the group was dissolved.
Sooyoung returned to Korea and underwent additional training before joining Girls’ Generation in 2007 and taking on the roles of a supporting vocalist, lead rapper, and a lead dancer.
Kwon Yuri and Sooyoung sang the song “Kkok” for the Working Mom television program. accompanied Tiffany Hwang on The Blue’s song Feeling Only You, and she sang the song Wild Flower for the My Spring Days OST.
The song How Great Is Your Love?, co-written by Sooyoung and Jenny Hyun, was included on the Girls Generation album The Boys. Sooyoung also worked with Seohyun and Yuri to compose the song Baby Maybe for the The Boys album.
