6. Xiangjiaba Dam

The Xiangjiaba station is linked to the Xiangjiaba-Shanghai HVDC station, which supplies the majority of Shanghai’s electricity. Construction started in 2006, and it was completed in 2012.

Xiangjiaba, China’s third most powerful dam and one of the world’s most powerful dams, is located behind the Three Gorges Dam and the Xiloudu Dam. The dam, which is located between the provinces of Yunnan and Sichuan, has a capacity of 6,448 megawatts.
