LeBron James Could Leave Los Angeles Lakers as Son Bronny Declares for 2024 NBA Draft

It appears that the possibility of NBA legend LeBron James leaving the Los Angeles Lakers could be a very real one, if recent reports are to be believed. The veteran superstar has spoken for some time about his desire to play alongside his son Bronny, and as he is now set to enter the 2024 NBA Draft, the chances of such an exit are much increased.

The Los Angeles Lakers would sorely miss LeBron’s pulling power and obvious abilities on the court. On that front, fans seeking information about watching their beloved hero perform can find out all they need to know about the best sports streaming sites online.

At 39 years of age, clearly, LeBron James does not have many NBA seasons left in the tank, and in 2024/25, he may well look to make the move to join Bronny wherever he ends up, which is unlikely to be at the Los Angeles Lakers.

When previously commenting on his desire to line up with his son, LeBron stated,

“My senior year, I’ll be playing with Live Scores. Wherever Bronny is, I’ll be there. I would do whatever it takes to play with my son for a year. It’s not about the money,”

LeBron is now in his sixth season at the Crypto.com Arena franchise and the four-time NBA champion has clearly achieved everything that is possible to achieve in the game, hence his ambition to follow his son being top of his current priority list.

Bronny is set to leave USC and is likely to make the jump up to the NBA, and LeBron has discussed how keen he is to see him make that leap;

“The NBA is the best league in the world,” James said. “That’s why it’s hard to watch my son play college basketball. It is hard watching a 40-minute college basketball game. It’s hard. I get more anxiety and I sweat more watching college basketball, especially my son now, than I’ve ever done in my life.”

Bronny missed five months of the college season after suffering a cardiac arrest, and that, unsurprisingly, led to him making less of an impact at USC than he would have hoped. He will need to be evaluated and approved by the NBA’s fitness-to-play panel before he can play or practice with a team, but he can still discuss and conduct interviews in the meantime.

His agent, Rich Paul, discussed what lies ahead for his client,

“I don’t value a young player getting into the lottery as much as I do getting him on the right team in the right developmental situation.” before adding.

“LeBron wants Bronny to be his own man,”

That, in principle, seems laudable, but clearly, the fact that his father is arguably the greatest player the NBA has ever seen will impact how things pan out for Bronny in the next weeks and months.

Any franchise that manages to pull in the dream team of LeBron and Bronny is sure to be amply rewarded in terms of the financial impact this would bring, but clearly, the talents of James Jr. need to be factored in. Watch this space.
