8. Norway
Norway, which is known for its picturesque coastline, spectacular fjords, lakes, and the magical northern lights, was ranked first in this ranking in 2017. It’s easy to see why Norwegians don’t have much to complain about, with a high GDP per capita, universal health care, and good educational options (public education is tuition-free for all students regardless of place of origin here).
Being near water has been scientifically proven to make people happier, and Noway offers plenty of possibilities to do so. Lake Mjsa, about 60 miles north of Oslo, is one of the country’s deepest and most beautiful lakes. Get in a good ride before cooling off in the water on the lake’s bike trail, which encircle the entire lake.
