Tesla was formed in 2003 by Martin Eberhard and Mark Tarpenning, and it wasn’t until 2004 that Elon Musk became the company’s principal investor and chairman of the board of directors. Despite the fact that Musk was not the company’s creator, he was instrumental in its growth and global recognition.Tesla is the world’s largest producer of electric vehicles, solar panels, and batteries.
Tesla and 27 other US companies founded the Zero Emission Transport Association (ZETA) near the end of 2020 to help with the transition of all US vehicles to electric traction.
