Chinese rapper, singer, actor, and martial artist Tao. He was formerly a part of both EXO and EXO-M, a boy band. After initiating a lawsuit against SM Entertainment to dissolve his contract due to health concerns, he departed the group in August 2015, becoming the third Chinese member to do so after Kris and Luhan who left EXO the year before.
Since departing, he has performed as a soloist in China using the stage name Z.TAO.

Early Life And Career
Zitao was born on May 2, 1993, in Qingdao, Shandong, China. When he was 5 years old, his father sent him to Wushu Martial Arts instruction in an effort to teach him discipline due to his mischievous conduct as a child. As a student-athlete, Huang participated in martial arts tournaments in his hometown and practiced Wushu throughout his academic career.
Zitao also discovered a love for music at an early age and decided to pursue a career in it after graduating from school. 2010 saw participation in the China talent search event MBC Star Audition. A representative from Korea’s SM Entertainment noticed Huang’s Wushu Taolu performance during his audition and promptly chose him to make his K-Pop debut with the group EXO. After a brief learning phase He was unveiled as the primary rapper for the group’s Chinese-based subgroup, EXO-M, on December 27, 2011.
Tao continued to practice Wushu with actor and martial arts choreographer Bruce Khan while living in Korea as an EXO member, and he also continued to perform Wushu Taolu routines on stage and in variety shows.
Tao made his debut on the big screen alongside his close buddy Huang Xiaoming in the Chinese film You Are My Sunshine. He took on the job of William, Xiaoming’s helper, there.

The Game Changer, directed by Gao Xixi, is a film about gang conflicts in republican-era Shanghai, and Tao has been confirmed as the film’s major character. After watching recordings of Tao performing Wushu and determining his appropriateness for the part, Gao Xixi claimed that he was immediately compelled to choose Tao.
Tao’s debut as a martial artist actor in a leading role comes in The Game Changer. Tao will play Zhi Zun Bao, the Monkey King, in the TV adaptation of the film series A Chinese Odyssey. Additionally, he will play Zhao Ye in the fantasy film version of the Famen temple code novels, which will be helmed by Tsui Hark.
