5 Historical WWE Matches That Stand Apart

Apart from Superman, Spider-Man, Iron Man, or Batman, what else did we want to be as kids?  We couldn’t fly, walk on a wall, or emit laser beams from our eyes. However, we could chokeslam our little siblings. And that, we all did.

Be it STF or Camel Clutch, we all tried to walk in the boots of famous WWE stars. As kids, wrestlers like Batista, John Cena, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and many others left a profound memory.

Now, the GenZ don’t know what a WrestleMania streak is. However, our generation still longs for epic WWE clashes.

To cherish those forgotten memories, we’re here to recall some unmatched WWE matches. We doubt that hardcore WWE fans wouldn’t know about these, but if you don’t, now is the time to watch them.

Without further ado, let the bells ring.

Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels – WrestleMania XII 1

The Shield vs The Wyatt Family – Elimination Chamber 2014. 1

Cody Rhodes vs Seth Rollins – Hell In A Cell 2022. 2

The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels – Wrestlemania XXVI 2

The Undertaker vs Triple H – WrestleMania XXVIII 3

Bottom Line. 3

Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels – WrestleMania XII:

A bout between the two best athletes of their era can’t disappoint. The Heartbreak kid, Shawn Michaels taking on The Hitman, Bret Hart wasn’t like an ordinary match.

Coming face to face in WrestleMania XII, both wrestlers were fueled up by the fire of vengeance.  The match lasted for more than an hour. As ardent fans, we didn’t want any of them to lose, but Shawn’s Sweet Chin coming out of nowhere made him a clear winner.

Nonetheless, a bout of the highest skills demands a result. Till now, it’s a distant dream for WWE to produce hour-long fights, without a single dull moment during the match.

The Shield vs The Wyatt Family – Elimination Chamber 2014:

There are multiple tag teams that fans truly love. However, when it comes to trio teams, we don’t have that many to cherish. Still, fans got to see the heroics of arguably two best trios in WWE’s history.

The Shield vs The Wyatt Family wasn’t expected by most fans. However, it was exactly what the fans wanted. The star power of this match is still unmatched. Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Bray Wyatt had it all to make this match a memorable one.

As for the fans, they didn’t know how much they wanted this rivalry. Ultimately, The Wyatt Family came out as winners but, this match gave the WWE Universe a trio team rivalry like no other.

However, with The Shield breaking apart and Luke Harper’s death, there’s no formidable trio force in the WWE. But, there’s plenty of action that you can enjoy, using Spectrum’s TV connection.

Cody Rhodes vs Seth Rollins – Hell In A Cell 2022:

Hell in a Cell, once considered as Devil’s Playground slowly lost its charm. Being overused, which was once a way for wrestlers to settle lasting feuds became an ordinary match.

Until Cody met Rollins in late 2021 and carried on their brawls to 2022, they decided to settle the matter once and for all.

Cody, with a torn right arm, wasn’t in his best shape. But Rollins, tasting defeat at WrestleMania 38 and Backlash wanted to get Cody so desperately.

The blood feud between Cody and Rollins brought the bout back to its glory. With Cody coming out on top, he declared himself as the ultimate warrior, worthy of a shot at the WWE Championship Title.

The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels – WrestleMania XXVI:

Well, every WrestleMania brings something memorable with it. However, WrestleMania 25 had something special.

The Undertaker, looking to maintain his unbeaten streak accepted the Heartbreak kid’s challenge. However, the challenge was accepted for a price, and it was beyond anyone’s imagination.

On one hand, it was HBK’s career that was on the line. On the other, it was Deadman’s 18-match unbeaten streak. Safe to say, the stakes were never too high in a WWE match.

Following the two tombstones, Michaels finally gave up the quest to save his career. Nevertheless, this high-intensity match kept everyone on their heels.

The Undertaker vs Triple H – WrestleMania XXVIII:

Undertaker’s streak had increased to one more match. Defeating Triple H at the previous event, The Deadman seemed unstoppable.

For Triple H, there were far too many reasons to take the Deadman down. Beating him not only meant settling the score of last year’s humiliation but also taking the revenge of his beloved friend, Shawn Michaels.

Moreover, with Shawn Michaels officiating the match, it became more dramatic.

Despite several attempts by Triple H and Shawn Michaels to put The Deadman’s streak to a halt, they failed. The Undertaker, for the 21st time, stepped out of the ring as the winner.

Battered, beaten, and bloodied, most fans were in awe seeing Triple H being held up by Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker.

Not many bloodthirsty matches provide such wholesome moments. And that’s why this match belongs to the history books.

Bottom Line:

WWE has produced some masterpieces over the years. However, none of them comes closer to these epics. With young and energetic wrestlers on the roster now, fans can only hope to see the long-forgotten clashes between the titans.
